Good Friday

I don't think I have ever given much thought to Good Friday. Last Sunday my friend Shauna Jones spoke who three years ago lost her daughter and mother in a car accident on Good Friday. She talked about the meaning behind Good Friday and then Easter Sunday. She shared her thoughts on Christ and his sufferings as well as the resurrection. She shared her struggles of loosing her daughter who was only 11 years old. She then talked about how we all have Fridays in our life. Those moments of despair, struggle, devastation, and sadness. She then talked about hope and Sunday. In our life Sunday will come, it does come. She also bore her testimony of the Resurrection and of the Atonement. I just wanted to take a moment and share my testimony of the Atonement and the sacrifice of God's only begotten. I also know Christ lives!!!

I had the great opportunity to go to the Temple today and feel of the spirit there. I am truly thankful for the Gospel!! I know I have so much and am grateful for I have so much more than I deserve!!! God is truly a great God, a merciful God and a loving God!!!!!

Happy Easter Weekend!!!

Easter Egg Hunt

Norton had an Easter Egg Hunt yesterday morning so we joined my friend Mary and her boys. It was a good time! The Easter bunny came riding on a fire truck!! There was also a police escort which thrilled Peyton!!!

There were not many eggs- Peyton didn't find any and Jenna grabbed one!! But there were friends that shared which even made the experience all that much greater!!!

School, books, and kids, OH MY!

This semester has been a great one! I love my classes and took two classes this semester by the same great teacher!! I also had her last year. The two classes are Observing and Recording, and a Literacy class. Yesterday we did an in-class observation day where I brought in kids for the class to observe and take notes. Actually I brought in four kids- Peyton, David, and then Ava and Nora Cartwright. It was perfect to have two 4-yr olds and two 3-yr olds of different genders. The children did beautifully!! Then the teacher let them keep an apron, play dough, and then presented them each with a certificate!! It was a fun day for all!! Jenna was sad to not beable to go so I traded the kids and took Jenna in the afternoon to my Literacy class!!

(Peyton is being silly, and David wouldn't be in it)

So in my literacy class yesterday we each brought in a favorite book and talked about it. (I know this does not help my cause for those that think I only color!) Jenna came with and brought Fancy, Nancy. We had a great time!! Jenna loved it!! I am really enjoying this class! I love books, especially kids books!! Literacy or Language Arts is probably my favorite subject for Elementary School. I have learned a lot and also added to my Library for my kids and for the future.

These are a few of my recent purchases. I love stories , the pictures, the stories, and the imagination. I have always loved books and do read other books but, love reading to my kids.

A few years ago I came up with a system where I came up with a theme for each month and pulled books with that theme and put them in a basket in the family room, now it is in the hall. When the kids want to read or be read to they can go to the basket for a book. I then change the books monthly and this way they all get read. It also helps me when buying books to see what kind I need or want to have for my kids to read. This months theme besides St. Patty's Day is things that go. Then at Preschool Peyton learned about Eric Carle so I pulled all my Eric Carle books and added them to the basket for the kids to be read. Just for some ideas I am going to put my theme's on the side of my blog.

This is my Private collection of both Adult books and Children's Books- the rest of the kids books are on another bookshelf in their room. These are Special!!! Happy Reading!!

Going Green!!!

This was not breakfast it was actually lunch!!
Our morning got off on a very late start so we started out St. Patty's day fun at lunch time. We read all about St. Patrick and the Shamrock. We read a story about a funny leprechaun. The kids ate green pancakes and drank green milk and of course we all wore green!! It was a lot of fun!!

This is my lunch which also consisted of some green foods- none that I dyed green!! I prefer more natural green foods!!!
And boy was it yummy!! It is called Somen salad and my mom had made it last night for our Relief Society "Meeting" where we featured food around the world!! It was soo yummy!!
I think my favorite was the Pizza Ali made which had artichoke hearts and mushrooms on it!!!
Now that I am thinking about food I like a lot of Green foods! Such as:
-Avocados
-Artichokes
-Spinach
-even Chard (like Spinach)
-Broccoli
-Cucumbers
-Limes are always fun!
-is Watermelon considered green?
-I do like green beans and peas (especially right out of the garden)
Green is a great color!! Jenna's new favorite!!

The best part of today was that the weather was beautiful!! So we went for a walk got exercise and then played at the park!!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you!!!!

Enjoying Spring Break and being an Aunt!!

Friday Night I treated David to Big Brother Day!!
I spoiled him and took him to Build-A-Bear so he could have a baby to take care of when mommy is taking care of the baby!!

Meet Blue Bear

David was so excited about the bear and being a big brother. He was so much fun!!

Meet my new beautiful niece:

Megan Belle Perkins
8lbs, 19 3/4 in. long

I am so in love with her!!! (Not baby hungry)

Precious!!!!

I got to go over to the house today and bathe her!!! Thank you Laura!!
What a treat it was!! Of course Megan was not happy. She likes to be wrapped up and cuddled and not messed with and cold!!! She is just way to sweet!!!! I was in heaven and thought this is the best way to spend Spring Break ever!!!!!!!

She loves to make faces!! She is so cute and funny. I could hold her and watch her all day every day!!!! She has personality!!!

I think she may be scared!!!!
Jenna told me that she wants me to have a baby so she can have one at her house and she doesn't have to leave it. So I guess I am not the only one "Not Baby Hungry!"

This is a great start to my Spring Break!!!! Babies are so wonderful!!
I am so thankful for family and this new addition to ours!!!
