So this is what I am learning....

I am taking a Courtship, Marriage, and Family Class and wanted to share what I was taught last week about dating.  There are two theories I have learned about when it comes to dating the one is the theory of Mate Selection (Murstein) also known as the Filtering Model:

1- Proximity Filter- all the Eligible Mates
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

2- Stimulus Filter- Physical/ Personal Attractiveness
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

3- Value Filter- Comparison/ Similarity
IIIIIIII

4- Role Filter- Compatibility
II

5- Selection/ Engagement
I

6- Marriage!!!

So now what happens when there is not many if no Eligible Mates especially in my Exposure Pool?  Class is not helping me!!!!!!!!!

My Buddy

These are different pictures taken over the last few months of My Buddy!  He is growing up so much and is doing so well.  Recently he was put into the school's K+ program which means he now goes all day.  I did not know how he would take it or how he would adjust, and I felt guilty because I wanted him to go so I could have a little bit more time to devote to school and my new job.
Well, he is doing fantastic!  He loves school even more than he did and he is just blossoming!  I am so proud of him.  I met with his two teachers today and he is progressing!
Tonight as we were reading he wanted to read too and he did!
I feel so blessed to have these sweet spirits in my home!

My Girl

The past couple weeks Jenna has had a lot going on!
First Grade has been great and she has many good friends- one is Emily!
They are two peas in a pod!!
We had Emily and her mom over one evening for a late night fun night!!
The girls were twinners!!!
This is from her First Grade Choir Perfomance!!!
It was wonderful- it was Christmas in January!!!
I complained about the dress code but, it sure looked nice!!!
She also let Aunt Laura cut her hair- she looks adorable!!!

Then last weekend Jenna and I went on a Leader-Daughter Girl Scout Camp out!
We had so much fun!  It was like a small vacation!!
And we were with good friends!!

This is where we stayed and it was just in Richfield so not far from our home, and yet we felt miles away!!!

Jenna loved being able to play with her friends in the snow!!  She had a great time and keeps talking about going back!!!!  I have to thank the other leaders as well- they were wonderful!!!!

I am so thankful for Jenna and the wonderful girl she is, the joy she brings to my life, and I love watching her grow up!!!
