The Spiderman Birthday Party!!!

The party was a big hit! The weather ended up being nice later on and we had a great time in my parents back yard! We played games such as: Spiderman freeze tag, a three-legged race, and red-rover, red-rover! The adults even joined in on the fun! We bar-b-qued and had a picnic, opened presents and ate cup cakes! Peyton had a great day and got lots of fun new toys!!

June 20th

We were suppose to go to the Lake to have Peyton's Birthday party but the weather wasn't great! There had been so much rain that the lake had only one life guard, no concessions and everything was soaked!! So just as a family we went for a little over an hour to swim and to have some more birthday fun!! He received a spiderman swimsuit, squirter, and water gun to play with then at the lake!

We love going to Loyal Oak Lake- it is our favorite summer spot and of course so do the kids! We have been coming here for years! Mainly it is my mom, me, laura, the kids, and any time any one else is in town. Papa doesn't get to play very often so this was a real treat!! Too cold for us girls to swim but, was fun for us to lay out, talk, and watch the kids!!!

Peyton is 4 years old!!

Peyton is four today! I can not believe how time flies!
Peyton is a fun boy to have around! I realized
recently how boring my life would be without him!
His sense of humor, his love, his smile, and all his
many different faces!! You seem to laugh more
when you are around him and for me that is GREAT!

Peyton's Special Day
-looking at baby pictures and talking about the
day he was born!! (my favorite part)
-lunch at McDonald's
-balloon shopping
-treat at the dollar store
-ran to the lake between rain showers!
-Wal-Mart!
-My parents took us to the movie- UP!
(we celebrated me done with class, b-day, and father's day!)

Peyton had a great day today!! He said he loves being 4!
Tomorrow is the family party!! So he still has more to go!

(I will post more pictures then!)

Today Peyton gave his first scripture and prayer in Primary! I can not believe how fast time flies and grown up my kids are!! He stood up their with such confidence and I whispered the scripture in his ear. The theme in primary is on Family this year and they said that today they were going to be talking on prayer!

Well, being the well prepared mother that I am I ran into the primary room borrowed scriptures from a little kid and then walked over to a newly return missionary asking him for a scripture. He gave me a good one on both prayer and families found in 3 Nephi. So I am whispering the scripture in Peytons ear and the ending is that we should pray over our wives and over our children that they may be blessed.

Peyton says, "to pray over my wives.." then I whisper and over our children... And the look he gave me was priceless! He would not repeat it. So I said it again and then added that we may be blessed.. and he says, "and so we may be blessed." I was trying not to laugh and he then started the prayer! He is so darling!! Such a sweet boy!! I am thankful for my BOY!!!

Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens

A year ago my mom and I got gift certificates to go to Stan Hywet for our birthdays and finally went! Mike had the kids so it was just my mom and I. What a treasure to spend an afternoon
together walking around on a peaceful and sunny day. The home is beautiful- has 18 bedrooms, a garden room, a music room, a breakfast room and kitchen, a separate room just to arrange flowers! For as old as it was it was fun to see all the advances the house had for its time including a telecom system, multiple phones, and I love the amazing bathrooms with separate showers and double sinks! It also had secret passages, indoor pool, and in its day an indoor bowling alley! What a home! And the gardens are breathtaking!
I am so thankful for my mom and love her so much- I know she sacrifices a lot for me and my kids. It is also hard because she has so many people who need and want her attention that I feel a little guilty being able to have her so often. Of course we don't get many afternoons like this one. What a wonderful treat it was!!

Secrets of Parenting

Being a mom is the hardest Job and I am always hoping to find the secret to be the Perfect Parent! I have talked to many parents and have read books- some good info gathered! In my divorce class that I took last year they talked about that to raise a healthy and happy child- you must give the child 10 kisses, and 10 hugs daily!! Laura introduced me to a new parenting book which I do have to give it credit as having some good ideas and concepts teaches how kids now days receive to much attention and are addicted to attention. (That is the really short version synopses)

I have found the middle ground between the two ideas which I think is my secret for parenting. I give my kids 10 kisses and 10 hugs daily!! They love it and ask for them!! Then I decided that I think they might need 10 tickles too, because every kid needs a good tickle! I have also decided if I am going to do that I think I should balance it all with 10 spankings every day as well!! That way my children feel loved and are disciplined for the day as well!

This morning at 7:30 am both kids ended up in my bed! I loved being able to talk, cuddle, kiss, and hug them. I informed them that they needed tickling- and they each lined up!! Then I told Peyton he needed his spankings and he gladly accepted!! (The only problem was that today I still had to threaten and discipline Peyton several times today!!) So maybe my secret is not so much as a success as I was hoping!!!!!!!!

I Love being a MOM!! Even with its many challenges!!!

Big Trucks and a race car, OH MY!!!

Jenna got to go to my dad's work on Tuesday to see a race car! My mom and Laura took Jenna, David and Jenna's friend Dennison to go see it!! It was sponsored by R&L which had a huge semi that brought the race car. The kids got to go inside the semi and in there they served them lunch!! The kids loved it especially David. (You can view Laura's Blog for more info!) Thanks Laura for the Pictures! At least I feel included.

Well, I missed out on the fun because I had school and then I babysit on Tuesdays. My kids are lucky to have Wonderful grandparents, aunts and friends that take them to do such fun things or they would have a boring life with their mom!!!

Peyton was traded for Dennison. He got to be with his friend Ethan and they got to go tour a fire station!! Which is right up Peyton's alley!! He loves fireman and policeman!! He loved it!! He is still talking about the Fire truck and the Ambulance he got to see!!!!
