Since I have moved into my moms home of course I have been helping with the housework, the cooking, and anything else I am asked to do. One night when becky was visiting every time I sat down I was asked to get something or do something from someone and I said Oh, sure since I am Cinderella! Well, it has stuck. My new nickname is Cinderella. My dad even introduces is me as Cinderella to people. I liked it and thought it was funny.
It has been different to now be a single mom living back at my parents house and at times a little hard. I think the hard part is more the idea of it then actually living there. I have always loved being a mom and glad that I have been able to be a stay-at-home mom. It has been a little awkward to stay-at-home and live at my parents when I feel like I should be working and be more independent. I was thinking one day about being Cinderella and feeling like it is my new job title, then I realized how blessed I am to be Cinderella. I have the opportunity to serve my children and be home with them even though I am a single mom. It is because of my parents that I have this opportunity and the opportunity to go back to school. I love being able to serve them by cleaning, making the meals and helping them out any way I can.
When we were in Pittsburgh I guess my Dad had come home one night to my mom upstairs on the computer and there was no dinner made and dishes weren't done and he said to my mom, "Well, you can tell Cinderella's not here." When my mom told me that I said, Oh, that means he missed me. I love that they like having me there and that I am not too much of a burden. It brings me joy to beable to serve my mom after her recent foot surgery. I enjoy taking care of the house hold and to be a full time mom. I am also so excited to go to school in January.
(Now, I am not perfect at being Cinderella.) My parents and I all work together. There are plenty of times my mom makes a meal or cleans the house, and my dad will do dishes. It has been a great set-up as we work together and help each other. I am also thankful for the ward and all there help with taking care of my mom. It has been amazing how the ward is also my family and supports me and has just pulled me in!!! Thank you! Thank you!!
